First time Electronic Voting Machines(EVM) were used.
 
First time Electoral  Photo ID cards along with 21 other documents were used for the identification of the Voter.
 
Computerized Electoral rolls were published and used .
 
50 % staff (Polling Presiding Officers) were drawn from outside state for the smooth conduct of elections.
 
Foreign observers, Media persons and Journalists were allowed to monitor the Election process.
 
Round the clock E-Mail services were provided.
